Introduction : 

The Department of Marathi seeks to nurture the rich heritage of Marathi literature, language, and culture. By rigorous curriculum, research, and creative pursuits, it discovers classical literature, contemporary works, and regional tradition. The department nurtures linguistic acumen, critical awareness, and cultural literacy, enabling students to interact with Maharashtra's active literary and social milieu.

Vision: 

To be a premier centre of excellence in propagating Marathi language, literature, and culture, academic innovation, cultural heritage, and civic engagement to inspire future scholars and world citizens based on the rich heritage of Maharashtra.

GOAL:

To promote the study, research, and spread of Marathi language and literature and foster a profound love for Maharashtra's cultural heritage through complete education, community work, and interdisciplinary efforts.

Objective:

  • Marathi Language Skills Improvement: Improve Marathi reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills.
  • Marathi Literary Awareness: Develop reading interest in Marathi literature with cultural awareness.
  • Promote the Culture of Marathi: Conserving and propounding Marathi language and traditions.
  • Critical Thought Development: Engender critical abilities through literary experience.
  • Communication: Facilitate effective expression through Marathi by students.
