NSPM in bird’s eye-view
Established in 1918, Nashik Shikshan Prasarak Mandal, Nashik has completed its Century. The overall contribution of Nashik Shikshan Prasarak Mandal (NSPM) in education is praiseworthy and noteworthy. NSPM has safeguarded its position among leading educational institutions from North Maharashtra in particular.
NSPM has its aims and objectives right from its foundation. NSPM has been rigorously endeavoring to give national education to every enrolled student. NSMP is earnestly escalating education (KG to PG +) in every strata of the society. In view of the above NSPM stalwartly wants to develop the rich and good character citizens who believe in social judgment‚ national integrity‚ national freedom and democracy. Further, NSPM is also venturing to improve the level of education and maintain the quality in it. NSPM, besides being an educational institution also functions as an NGO and imparts training to each and every member of society.
Keeping the above aims and objectives NSPM conducts several activities for the students, teachers, parents and other stakeholders of the education. The following is just a glimpse of the curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities by NSPM in the path of its century.

Late R. K. Yardi Smruti Vyakhyanmala:
It is a series of speech running persistently from almost last four decades. This vyakhyanmala organized annually in memory of Late Mr. R. K. Yardi‚ the former principal of Purushottam English School‚ Nashik Road. The speeches by renowned educationist, social reformers and other influential figures are on educational‚ social‚ national subjects. The vyakhyanmala has offered the Nashikites unique opportunity of sharing the thoughts and experiences of many eminent persons from different walks of life.

Late V. S. Purohit One Act Play Competition:
Almost from last four decades, the present Competition has been organized in memory of Late Mr. V. S. Purohit‚ a famous director and the former principal of Purushottam English School of Nashik Road. It must be marked that this is the only one act play competition in Maharashtra which has been conducted for school students. Many well known actors have introduced themselves from this stage‚ such as Dr. Girish Oak‚ Mrs. Vrishali Kulkarni‚ Mr. Rajiv Patil‚ Mr. Shaunak Gaidhani‚ Mr. Mahesh Dokphode‚ etc.

Late L.P. Soman Elocution Competition:
This Elocution Competition has been held in the memory of Late L.P. Soman‚ who was one of the founder members of the NSPM. Many students from numerous schools have been actively participating in the said elocution competition. The competition has offered unique opportunity of sharing the thoughts and ideas for the students.

Functional English Course:
This course has been conducted at primary and secondary schools of Nashik district. Under the able guidance of Dr. Mrs. Meenal Paranjape the Course has created positive impact among students and teachers. Selected 25 teachers of the institute have been trained for the implementation of the course. Furthermore, the students of the institute are also appearing for the Young Learners English (YLE) Test: Starters, Movers and Flyers held by the University of Cambridge.
NSPM has been organizing workshops on counseling for the teachers. Webelieve that a teacher has to be a good counselor and hence the initiative for the overall development of students’ personality. Furthermore, a counseling centre called ‘Sanvad’ has been opened up at J.S.Roongta High school Nashik. Under the combined auspice of S.S.C. Board and NSPM a help line has been started to resolve the problems of students, parents and teachers.
Dnyanyatri‚ a quarterly published magazine of the institute has been started in 2008 under the inspiration of hon’ble Mr. Kakasaheb Naik, the former president of the institute. It has been decided to make the magazine student-friendly. Many features so as to provide wide scope for the articulation of students artistic inclinations have been included in the said magazine. The magazine has got more than 15500 subscribers. The institute intends to undertake various programs for the development of artistic abilities of students, teachers and non teaching staff through the above activities and Dnyanyatri mirrors the same.

Computalent Search Competitive Exam:
Computalent Search Competitive Examination has been conducted for last 8 years at District Level to inspire students to make their mark in the field of computers and showcase their talent. Students from several schools(Primary and Secondary) have participated in the said Exam and the toppers are honored with cash awards, mementos along with the certificates.

Late Khanderao Balwant Lele Suryanamaskar Competition:
Suryanamaskar Competition has been organized from last 16 years. By convention, Suryanamaskar Competition has been taking place on the auspicious eve of Rathasaptami. The competition aims at inculcating the health values among the students, the future citizens of Young India. The competition has so far succeeded to make the students habitual of exercises.
Pravinya Varga i.e. Special Lecturers of eminent persons, scholars and academicians have been organized for the students of 5th ‚ 8th‚ 10th and 12th classes. These lectures have proven beneficial for students in future studies. These also provided assistance for choosing apt career paths.
NSPM has been conducting several activities keeping the said aims and objectives. The following is the gist of endless journey, the Jubilee Celebrations of the Institution which is marching towards its century.
NSPM has completed its 25 years in the year 1943. Eminent educationist, Hon’ble Sir S. Radhakrishnan‚ Vice Chancellor of Banaras University presided over the occasion of Silver Jubilee Celebration.
NSPM has completed its 50 years in the year 1968. Hon’ble Railway Minister Shri. S.K Patil presided over the occasion of Golden Jubilee.
In the year 1978 NSPM has celebrated its Diamond Jubilee. Famous Parliamentarian and India’s former Prime Minister Hon’ble Mr. Atal Bihari Vajpayee was president of this function.
National Volunteer Hon’ble Mr. Dattopant Thengadi who has done a lot of work on Indian Social Life was the president of Platinum Jubilee function in 1994.
Hon’ble Shri Devendra Fadnavis, Chief Minister of Maharashtra inaugurated the ceremony of Centennial Celebrations.
Nashik Shikshan Prasarak Mandal, Nashik has been striving for the all round development of the students, empowerment of them through confidence building, increasing employability and nurturing social and national sensitivity with the help of said activities. NSPM also envisions empowering the students, particularly from weaker and needy sections through quality education. Further, NSPM also endeavors to promote creativity, entrepreneurship and use of information, communication and technology so as to cultivate leadership skills among students with moral, mental and physical strengths and to nurture human values and sensitivity about socially relevant issues through education and research.
Last but not the least, Nashik Shikshan Prasarak Mandal has been progressing with the active help of its all devoted elements. In a nutshell, NSPM is sincerely trying to make trustworthy citizens through its several activities and in this continual endeavor NSPM welcomes your active participation in any form.
